曾在Jesus & Mary Chain樂團擔任鼓手一職的Bobby Gillespie，以主唱兼吉他手身份創立Primal Scream。1987年發行第一張專輯《Sonic Flower Groove》，在另類獨立搖滾以吉他噪音與迷幻氣息獨樹一幟。1991年的《Screamadelica》與House DJ Andrew Weatherall加入舞曲、福音、藍調、迷幻等元素，贏得英國第一屆水晶音樂獎。這套【經典專輯全集】收錄Vanishing Point (1997)、Echo Dek (1997)、XTRMNTR (2000)三張最具革命性的概念專輯，皆是值得仔細聆聽的搖滾佳作。
